Brawley Company Steven Arndt, Asset Management <br /> Services Director, 919-245-2628 <br /> Alan Dorman, Asset Management <br /> Services Assistant Director, 919-245- <br /> 2627 <br /> PURPOSE: To: <br /> 1) Approve a construction contract with the WB Brawley Company for the renovation of the <br /> third floor of the West Campus Office Building, and <br /> 2) Authorize the County Manager to execute the agreement and to execute any subsequent <br /> amendments for contingent and unforeseen requirements up to the approved budget <br /> amount on behalf of the Board, upon final County Attorney review. <br /> BACKGROUND: The proposed contract with WB Brawley provides for the renovation of the third <br /> floor of the West Campus Office Building ("WCOB"). WB Brawley was selected for this project <br /> based on a competitive bid process. <br /> Currently, the Finance and Administrative Services Department ("Finance") is located in leased <br /> space at 405 Meadowlands. The lease term for that space will end in October 2022. The <br /> renovation will allow Finance to move to the third floor of WCOB where the department will share <br /> space with Information Technologies and Humans Resources. The additional offices needed for <br /> Finance staff will be created by adding offices to an underutilized lobby and by converting several <br /> offices into shared office space. Additionally, the project includes new furniture and audio/visual <br /> equipment to better use the shared office space and conference rooms. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The contract with WB Brawley allocates $356,554. The total project <br /> funding for the West Campus Office Building renovation will be $730,000. Funding for this project <br /> is proposed for approval as part of Budget Amendment#13, utilizing funds from completed County <br /> capital projects. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There are no Orange County Social Justice Goal impacts <br /> associated with this item <br />
