2 <br /> Replacement of the building roof system will create a safe working environment for staff. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: The following Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br /> impact is applicable to this item: <br /> • ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND WASTE REDUCTION <br /> Initiate policies and programs that: 1) conserve energy; 2) reduce resource consumption; <br /> 3) increase the use of recycled and renewable resources, and 4) minimize waste stream <br /> impacts on the environment. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: <br /> 1) Approve a construction contract with Owens Roofing, Inc. for the replacement of the <br /> existing Whitted Complex roofing system; and <br /> 2) Authorize the County Manager to execute the Agreement and to execute any subsequent <br /> amendments for contingent and unforeseen requirements up to the approved budget <br /> amount on behalf of the Board, upon final County Attorney review. <br />
