Year-to-Date Budget Rebecca Crawford, (919) 245-2152 <br /> Summary Gary Donaldson, (919) 245-2453 <br /> Attachment 2: Eno Fire District Fund <br /> Balance Request <br /> PURPOSE: To approve a budget amendment for Fiscal Year 2021-22. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Sheriff's Office <br /> 1. North Carolina Sheriffs' Association Grant — After the County's FY 2021-22 Budget was <br /> approved, the Sheriff's Office received official notification that the North Carolina Sheriffs' <br /> Association (NSCA) approved an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Grant for the <br /> purchase of equipment and funds for training of investigators. The NCSA awarded the <br /> Orange County Sheriff's Office grant funding in the amount of $75,000. This amendment <br /> appropriates these funds in the Multi-Year Grant Fund, outside of the General Fund. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, <br /> gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> 2. The Sheriff's Office has the following year-end adjustments that are needed in the Drug <br /> Forfeiture Fund and the Jail Inmate Fund: <br /> • The Drug Forfeiture Fund was established in FY 2015-16 to record Federal and State <br /> Forfeiture funds for the Sheriff's Office, and to account for the receipt and <br /> disbursement of these funds. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of <br /> additional Forfeiture funds of $130,324 received by the Sheriff's Office during FY <br /> 2021-22 into the separate Drug Forfeiture Fund, outside of the General Fund. <br />
