In <br /> September 2001, the theme for the HSAC forum was "Poverty in Orange County. The Issues <br /> that Remain': Over 125 participants spent the day discussing the affect that poverty has on <br /> the day-to-day lives of the residents of Orange County and identifying strategies to address <br /> these problems. The five Issues and Strategies Sessions concentrated on Education (Lifecycle <br /> Approach); Child Care; Health and Nutrition; Employment; and Affordable Housing. <br /> David Thompson, co-chair of the HSAC will present an overview of the report and answer <br /> questions. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive-the report as <br /> information. <br />
