The work also <br /> includes a mandatory preliminary site investigation(to be conducted prior to submittal of your <br /> quotations) and post-construction site restoration to pre-construction conditions (e.g. restoration <br /> of gravel or pavement sidewalks/driveways (if needed), re-grading, raking, seeding/re-sodding, <br /> etc.). Based on available record drawings, the existing sewer service stub-outs to which the <br /> private sewer service laterals will be connected range from approximately 4-ft deep to <br /> approximately 16-ft deep. <br /> Sewer Service Lateral Connections: <br /> • Provider shall apply for and secure all applicable plumbing and/or code-specific permits <br /> from the Town of Chapel Hill or the Town of Carrboro Permits and Inspections <br /> Divisions, depending on the jurisdictional area in which the work is being performed, <br /> prior to starting work. <br /> • Provider shall provide any traffic control or other safety measures according to the most <br /> current NCDOT, OSHA or other safety requirements related to the work being <br /> performed. <br /> • Excavate to existing ductile iron mechanical joint plug located at existing sewer service <br /> stub-out near property line. <br /> • Install 4-inch sewer service lateral with all fittings and appurtenances (Schedule 40 PVC <br /> pipe or ductile iron pipe, depending on site conditions) to connect existing dwelling's <br /> wastewater discharge system to existing sewer service stub-out near property line. <br /> • Cap existing wastewater line to septic tank. <br /> • Provider shall coordinate final inspections and secure final certifications from the Town <br /> of Chapel Hill or the Town of Carrboro Permits and Inspections Divisions, depending on <br /> the jurisdictional area in which the work is being performed. <br /> • Restore site to pre-construction conditions, seed and straw all disturbed areas when done. <br /> • Additional Site Specific work: <br /> Septic Tank Abandonment: <br /> • Provider shall apply for and secure an Existing System Authorization from Orange <br /> County Environmental Health, which is a no-cost permit to abandon the existing septic <br /> tank,prior to starting work. <br /> • Contractor shall provide any traffic control or other safety measures according to the <br /> most current NCDOT, OSHA or other safety requirements related to the work being <br /> performed. <br /> • The existing septic tank will need to be pumped by a North Carolina registered septage <br /> hauler and then properly abandoned. <br /> • An Orange County Environmental Health Inspector must be present when the septic tank <br /> is collapsed. <br /> • Restore site to pre-construction conditions, seed and straw all disturbed areas when done. <br /> • Additional Site Specific work: <br /> Jcb July 2019 0.7 3 <br />
