She said some of the schools are very <br /> consistent in their approach to behavior management, for example, the PBIS training used by <br /> Grady Brown. She said that she was visiting a classroom there and the kids were signaling with <br /> their hands and different gestures to show their agreement in the conversation, and she asked <br /> them what they were doing, and they responded that they were using skills they learned in the <br /> PBIS training. She said that there are different tactics being used at different schools and that <br /> having different approaches at different schools presents a challenge. She said they have a <br /> new director of MTSS, and she is overseeing implementation of tier 1 and tier 2 supports. She <br /> said that she started off the schools with a self-assessment of where they are with MTSS and <br /> some of them said they are already doing it and some of them said we do not know how to do <br /> that yet. She said they need more consistent implementation. She said they have done a lot of <br /> work to meet that need by contracting with mental health services.
