She said that there are different tactics being used at different schools and that <br /> 4 having different approaches at different schools presents a challenge. She said they have a <br /> 5 new director of MTSS, and she is overseeing implementation of tier 1 and tier 2 supports. She <br /> 6 said that she started off the schools with a self-assessment of where they are with MTSS and <br /> 7 some of them said they are already doing it and some of them said we do not know how to do <br /> 8 that yet. She said they need more consistent implementation. She said they have done a lot of <br /> 9 work to meet that need by contracting with mental health services. She <br /> 13 said that they recently restructured their EC department to repurpose a couple of positions so <br /> 14 that there is a 504 medical coordinator and a mental health case management coordinator. She <br /> 15 said they are providing more funding to lead school counselors and social workers that are <br /> 16 helping at a district level. She said they are trying to support teacher and staff needs because <br /> 17 they are incredibly taxed so they are providing additional work days when possible. <br />
