PowerPoint Presentation Charles Lattuca, President and CEO, <br /> GoTriangle, (919) 428-7345 <br /> Saundra Freeman, Chief Financial <br /> Officer, GoTriangle, (919) 314-8746 <br /> PURPOSE: To receive a presentation from GoTriangle staff on the Durham-Orange Light Rail <br /> Transit (D-O LRT) Project expenses. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Durham-Orange Light Rail Transit project was an element of the Orange <br /> County and Durham County Transit Plans from 2012 until the project was discontinued in 2019. <br /> GoTriangle led the planning, design, and engineering effort. The presentation (Attachment A) <br /> provides an overview of the history of the project, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA)funding <br /> process, and a detailed report of the total project expenses and contracts. <br /> The Durham County Board of County Commissioners received GoTriangle's expenditure report <br /> at its May 2, 2022 meeting. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with the receipt of this presentation <br /> from GoTriangle. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice goals are applicable to <br /> this item: <br /> • GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION AND <br /> INEQUITY <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or color; <br /> religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national origin or ethnic <br /> background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential or economic status. <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding necessary <br /> for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for themselves and their <br /> dependents. <br /> Public Transportation provides opportunity for access to jobs and services and supports these <br /> Goals. <br />
