5 <br /> Animal Services <br /> 9. Animal Services has requested $12,175 of donated funds to cover the cost of Veterinary <br /> Assistance Program and Shelter animal medical care. The donated funds will come from <br /> Animal Services Go Fund Me. With this appropriation approximately $12,052 remains in <br /> the total of unallocated funds in the Community Giving Fund. This budget amendment <br /> provides the receipt and use of these funds consistent with the intent of the donations. <br /> 10. Animal Services has received a $20,000 grant from Petco for Working Barn Cat Program <br /> for life saving purposes. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of the grant funds <br /> for the above stated purpose. These positions are recommended to be funded in FY 2022- <br /> 23 using Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) state revenue and Supplemental Nutrition <br /> Assistance Program (SNAP) ARPA state revenue. These positions will assist with the <br /> anticipated increased work load for reviewing benefit eligibility following the pause in <br /> income verification during the pandemic. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br />
