The Walk for the Animals produced <br />$75,OOO....,five times what had ever been ever done before! <br />New Projects <br />Raised over $70,000 in cash, donated equipment and services, to build astate-of-the- <br />art Health/Spay-Neuter Clinic, that opened in January, 2003, This had been a priority of the <br />Board since 1992 and it became a reality 12 months after I took over, <br />Adoptions/New Programs <br />Even with a greatly increased incoming animal population, adoptions remained steady <br />and doubled the month of October, compared to the previous year, <br />New programs included: initial health checks on all animals arriving at the shelter; <br />more complete pre-adoption final health checks and vaccinations; and better control over court- <br />held and bite quarantine animals, <br />Temperament testing for every adoptable dog helps insure better matching between <br />potential adopters and available animals. <br />New kennel cleaning procedures were implemented to tighten disease management. <br />Adoption contracts, health forms and cage identification cards were revised and <br />checklists for money management, nightly closing, etc. were implemented, <br />
