NCSEA requested $115,000 from Orange
County and was awarded $90,000.

Updated Budget for Neighborhood Energy Resiliency Project (NERP)
Project Management/Reporting $15,000 Reduced by $5,000
Workshop $5,000
Community Organizing $8,000
Graphic Design $5,000
Printing $1,000
Retrofit Materials $20,000 Reduced by $2,000
Retrofit Installation Labor $35,000 Reduced by $5,000
Home Energy Assessment Reports $1,000
Total Expenses: $90,000

Removed from original budget and scope:

 Events (educational contractor shadowing and possibly additional workshops): $3,000
o The education campaign will not include the Shadowing Day, although we will
still hold a community workshop, disseminate energy conservation materials and
provide and educational experience to the resident during retrofit installations.
 Survey (creation, distribution and analysis): $2,000
o The project team will not conduct a post-retrofit survey to gauge satisfaction of
program and ask about benefits.
 Energy Data Analysis: $8,000
o At this point, carrying out energy data analysis to measure impacts of energy
efficiency upgrades is dependent on if the team is able to identify external funding
sources.
 The reduction in retrofit materials/labor will slightly impact the number of homes
receiving retrofits from NERP funding and/or the extent of the retrofits in some of those
homes. However, NCSEA has been committed funding from N.C. Department of
Environmental Quality (DEQ) to retrofit homes in this project territory, see the below
update for more information.
 Coastal Credit Union is still providing $10,000 towards the creation of educational
materials.
DocuSign Envelope ID: 05316BF7-95C7-4D54-82D9-7EBD5926DA4D
