51 ORANGE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION Notice of Public Hearing and 30-Day Public Comment Period on a Draft ADA Paratransit Plan The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires Orange Public Transportation to extend complementary ADA-accessible paratransit service to eligible persons within 314 - mile of its fixed-route service at concurrent times and dates to the routes and hours of fixed-route operation. A presentation of the draft Orange Public Transportation ADA Paratransit Plan and associated policies was provided at a public meeting held by Orange County staff February 12, 2015, at 7:OOpm in the Orange County West Campus Office building located at 131 W. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, NC 27278. A public hearing for the draft plan will be held by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners March 17, 2015, at 7:OOpm in the Orange County Southern Human Services Center located at 2501 Homestead Road; Chapel Hill, NC 27514, at which time a brief presentation of the draft plan will be provided and the public will be given an opportunity to comment. The public hearing originally scheduled for February 18th was cancelled due to inclement weather. The draft plan will be available for review and inspection on the Orange Public Transportation website (http://www.co.orange.nc.us/transportation/); in the administrative offices of Orange Public Transportation located at 600 Highway 86 N, Hillsborough, NC, 27278; and in the administrative offices of the Orange County Planning and Inspections Department located at 131 W. Margaret Lane, Suite 201, Hillsborough, NC 28278. A 30-day public comment period on the draft plan began Tuesday, February 3, 2015, and will terminate Thursday, March 5, 2015.
