The Council agreed that the age range for the youth delegate should be 13 years <br /> to 17 years of age. The Council discussed and approved to amend the memorandum that the <br /> youth delegate could renew up until their 18'birthday and then roll off the Council,with a new <br /> solicitation and application process at that point. <br /> b. Joint Town/County Advisory Board Meeting Update—Directors from all jurisdictions <br /> including Mebane met to discuss the Joint Advisory Board meeting. The group has chosen the <br /> Fall of 2022 as the time to have the meeting,with Chapel Hill as the host. The Council agreed a <br /> Fall meeting was fine. <br /> c. Plans for May Meeting(onsite at park, cookout?)—Members discussed the options for having <br /> the May park meeting. Council selected the Efland Cheeks Community Park. Recreation Division <br /> staff will be in attendance at the May meeting to provide an update. Reyman asked about the <br /> meeting space in Chapel Hill.Kalani Allen provided an update that the Animal Service Center <br /> did not have a way to securely lock the meeting room door. <br /> Report of the Director- <br /> a. Upcoming IPWG Meeting- Stancil explained the April InterGovernmental Parks Work Group <br /> (IPWG)meeting will be held virtually later in April. Chris Colvin is the PRC representative and <br /> will attend. (Ziemba had volunteered to attend if Colvin was unable to be at the meeting.) <br /> b. Overview of Possible May and June Meeting Topics—Stancil reviewed that Recreation will be <br /> providing an update in May. He noted that the Countywide Trails Plan development is being <br /> proposed to be pushed back to fiscal year 2023-2024,perhaps as a plan to develop a <br /> bicycle/trails/pedestrian plan for the county. Stancil stated that in the next meeting topics include <br /> discussion of the CIP and also the MST. <br /> Council and Committee Reports: <br /> a. Intergovernmental Parks Work Group(next meeting is April 13) <br /> b. Items from the Council-Ziemba raised the question about the Little Free Library in Cedar <br /> Groves that is broken, and who should be contacted to fix the library. Hughes asked about the <br /> news about the old Occoneechee Speedway being protected in proposed new sections of Eno <br /> River State Park, and how would that affect the Mountains-to Sea Trail(MST). Stancil explained <br /> that it will contribute to the connection,parts of the MST are within the area to be protected. <br /> c. Friends of Orange County Parks and Recreation(FOPR)—Reyman supplied information for <br /> FOPR including new members such as Tippin,website design by Allen Green. She discussed <br /> funding and donations. <br /> Next Meeting: May 4, 6:30 pm at Efland Cheeks Community Park. <br /> Adjournment: Reyman adjourned meeting at 7:50pm. <br />
