David Cheek embarked on a career of public service by <br /> joining the Chapel Hill Fire Department as a full -time firefighter ; and <br /> WHEREAS , Mr . Cheek made numerous contributions to the Chapel Hill Fire <br /> Department and ultimately reached the rank of Captain ; and !' <br /> WHEREAS , throughout his professional career , David Cheek helped advance the <br /> Chapel Hill Fire Department by serving in a variety of roles including Firefighter <br /> Lieutenant , and ultimately as a Captain ; and L <br /> WHEREAS , through his dedication and service to the residents of Chapel Hill and <br /> the greater Orange County community , Mr . Cheek directly contributed to creating <br /> a safer and more resilient Orange County ; and <br /> t <br /> is <br /> WHEREAS , David Cheek is retiring from the Chapel Hill Fire Department after <br /> I <br /> serving the residents and visitors of Orange County for twenty-two years ; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE , we , the Orange County Board of Commissioners , do hereby <br /> recognize and express deep appreciation for the invaluable service of David <br /> Cheek to the Orange County community , and wish him well in his retirement . <br /> This the 3rd day of May , 2022 . <br /> c <br /> exl .
