Please describe how you will
engage with and/or educate
project participants.
We will continue to utilize the ERFM newsletter, social media,
local papers, and the local radio station to engage with the
community, encourage composting and provide education about
composting. In addition, we will continue to engage and educate
ERFM attendees during market hours. This has proven to be an
effective way of getting market customers interested in
composting and starting to use our Compost Collection Site. Since
starting this site our participation level has increased by 400%.
36. How will you measure the
success of that engagement or
educational effort?
We will continue to track the number of participants each week
and will receive monthly reports from Brooks Contractors with
the total tonnage collected each month.
37. Please describe any other
aspect of your project that is
relevant to the amount, or
quality, or length of
engagement and/or education
that your project will produce.
We have already increased awareness of composting in the
community and the ways in which households can start or
increase their composting efforts. Since the Community Compost
Collection site is located at the ERFM, many of the customers to
the market (1,000/week during the summer months), walk by our
site, ask questions and give us the opportunity to educate them
about composting. Many children have expressed interest and
encouraged their parents to participate. It’s hard to say no to a
child who is interested in doing something positive for the
environment!

38. How much time will your
project require to demonstrate
the positive impacts you
describe?
The use of paid monitors will enhance an already successful
project by providing more consistent monitoring and
oversight so that the efficiency of the project and the
environmental impact can be maximized. In addition, paid
monitors, working with The ERFM Manager, will develop a
marketing strategy to further raise awareness of the
Community Compost Collection Site.
Criterion 6 - Amount and Duration of Engagement
DocuSign Envelope ID: AFC9D9B8-B7DD-46DF-8603-54762363FD20
