MORATORIUM ON TELECOMMUNICATIONS TOWERS <br />Invoke a six -month moratorium on the receipt and processing of application <br />for new telecommunications towere on lands within Orange Cpunys <br />jurisdiction. <br />Pumps : To permit additional time for review of proposed amendments to <br />Adds 8.8.17a (Telecommunications Towers) of the Orange County Zoning <br />Ordinance. Proposed ameMments may, among other things, address the <br />location, spacing, height, appearance, and total number of towers in Orange <br />County, Opportunities firm - location' of facilities on individual towers may <br />also be addressed in the proposed ordinance amendments. <br />E. NONPUBLIC HEARING ITEMS <br />1. Presentation: Triangle Geel lot Regional Open Space Assessment <br />The Triangle GreenPtlnt is a joint project to develop a regional open space <br />plan for the Triangle, building on local programs such as Orange County's <br />Lands Legacy program. Phase I of the process has been a regional open <br />space assessment, bonging together open space and conservation <br />professionals from across the region to identify critical natural and cultural <br />resource lands. Representatives from Triangle Gre rni (which is <br />coon inated by N.C. Parks and Recreation, Triangle J Council of <br />Go4emments, and Triangle Land Conservancy) will present the results of the <br />Phase IlRegianal Open Space Assessment. <br />2. Presentation: Population and Demographic Update and Build-out <br />Projections Using GIS <br />The Orange County Planning Department Is analyzing existing Demographic <br />components and proposed conditions based on land use to develop a new <br />comprehensive plan. As pad of the research process, a study of population <br />and demographics has been performed. This presentation will focus on <br />population changes derived from 2000 Census cuts; population and housing <br />linear projections through 2020; and a build -out soanaoo based on maximum <br />market me growth using existing land use densities. <br />Changes may be made in the advertised proposals that reflect debate, objections <br />and discussion at the loading. <br />Accommodations for individuals with physical disabilities can he provided If the <br />request is made to the Director of Planning at least 48 hours prior to the Public <br />Hearing by calling the appropriate number listed below.
