1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: April 26, 2022 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-g <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Approving the Sale of Two Frontend Loading Vehicles to the City of <br /> Rocky Mount, NC <br /> DEPARTMENT: Solid Waste <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Resolution Robert Williams, 919-918-4904 <br /> PURPOSE: To approve a resolution authorizing the selling of two frontend loading vehicles to <br /> the City of Rocky Mount, NC. <br /> BACKGROUND: Orange County Solid Waste was contacted by the City of Rocky Mount Public <br /> Works Department with a request for assistance. Due to major mechanical failures and supply <br /> chain issues, the City of Rocky Mount asked if Orange County Solid Waste was able to assist. <br /> The Department has two frontend loading vehicles that were removed from service and were <br /> slated to be sold at auction, specifically <br /> • 2009 Peterbilt Frontend Loader Vehicle VIN 3BPZLOOXX9F719122; and <br /> • 2009 Peterbilt Frontend Loader Vehicle VIN 3BPZXOEX19FT19779 <br /> The Department proposes selling the vehicles to the Town of Rocky Mount for $60,000 each. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The financial impact will be receipt of a total of $120,000 in revenue or <br /> $60,000 per vehicle sold. According to information received, this is a fair value for the sale of the <br /> vehicles. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice impact associated with <br /> this item. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br /> impact associated with this item. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve and authorize the <br /> Chair to sign the attached resolution authorizing the sale of both frontend loading vehicles to the <br /> City of Rocky Mount, NC as detailed above. <br />
