The Foundation for Health Leadership and Innovation (FHLI) has awarded $99,988 to the <br /> Orange County Housing & Community Development to increase utilization of the NCCARE360 <br /> referral tool and help people connect to needed services in the community. These funds will <br /> create two full time equivalent(FTE) positions—a 1.0 FTE Team Lead for the Housing Helpline, <br /> and a .5 FTE funding for an existing, American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)-funded Housing <br /> Locator, who will help people find affordable housing units. The grant will fund the positions <br /> from until the end of May 2023. This increases the Community Development Fund, outside of <br /> the General Fund. <br /> 5. The Housing & Community Development Department requests $171,196 from the Social <br /> Justice Reserve Fund to support the costs of the Isolation Hotel program for people <br /> experiencing homelessness from November 2021 through June 30, 2022. Since November <br /> 2021, the Department has served 31 people experiencing homelessness who tested positive <br /> for COVID-19 in the Isolation Hotel program. The County provided 326 hotel nights, <br /> transportation to and from the hotel, food and beverages, light case management, coordination <br /> with public health experts in the Health Department, and addressed other client needs as they <br /> presented.
