FACII.ITIES REVIEW <br />CLIENT: HENDERSON COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, NORTH CAROLINA <br />MGT contracted with the Henderson County, North Carolina, Board of Commissioners in completing <br />an assessment and review of the physical condition and suitability of a selected number of high priority <br />elementary schools in the county. Consultants conducted site visits to assess the physical condition, <br />educational suitability, and program space requirements for each elementary school. MGT provided <br />alternative recommendations (including cost estimates) for meeting the facility needs at each of these <br />high priority elementary schools. <br />EVALUATION OF A REGIONAL EDUCATIONAL LABORATORY <br />CLIENT: SOUTHEASTERN REGIONAL COUNCIL FOR EDUCATIoNAI, IMPROVEMENT <br />The Southeastern Educational Improvement Laboratory (SEIL) is one of nine educational research and <br />development laboratories funded by the federal Department of Education to provide regional educa- <br />tion services, Southeastern Educational Improvement Laboratory serves six states: North Carolina, <br />South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama, It is governed by a Board of Directors having <br />four members per state, Southeastern Educational Improvement Laboratory engaged MGT to per- <br />form an evaluation of the laboratory's first year of operations, The evaluation included: <br />• assessing 14 different meetings of various groups related to the lab; <br />• conducting telephone surveys of state -level lab service recipients; <br />• reviewing products developed by the lab; <br />• meeting with federal education officials to report on the evaluation; <br />• providing formative evaluation to lab management; <br />• producing a final evaluation report, <br />G- <br />o %r America <br />
