10 <br /> Reasons Want to Serve Board#1 <br /> I want to serve on the Arts Commission Board because the arts have given me everything that I have. My <br /> father is a musician, my aunt is an actress, and my mom is a poet. I was raised to cultivate these interests <br /> and want to work in the arts throughout my life. I also talked with Hannah Fatool about this position and <br /> believe I can offer new perspectives to the board. <br /> Diversity of Viewpoints Board #1 <br /> I have been told that I am a chameleon of sorts in that I fit into any group I am a part of. I think this is, in <br /> part, due to being raised in an open-minded family where I was allowed and encouraged to have my own <br /> opinions on issues. I am passionate about social justice and environmental justice. I am also a queer <br /> woman, which has given me insight into how different communities are affected by these issues. I do <br /> acknowledge I have a great amount of privilege and I want to make and give space to those who don't <br /> have the same privilege. <br /> Conflict of Interest Board #1 <br /> I don't believe I have any conflicts of interest, unless being on the LAB!
