ORANGE COUNTY 019913-3 <br /> <br />Emergency Management Warehouse Building Dehumidification General Requirements for <br /> Divisions 23 and 26 Work <br /> <br /> <br />Miscellaneous items and accessories that are not specifically shown on the drawings or specified herein, but which 1 <br />are essential to produce a complete and properly operating installation, or usable structure or plant, providing the 2 <br />indicated function, shall be furnished and installed without change in the Contract price. Such miscellaneous items 3 <br />and accessories shall be of the same quality standards, including material, style, finish, strength, class, weight and 4 <br />other applicable characteristics, as specific for the major component of which the miscellaneous item or accessory is 5 <br />an essential part. The above requirement, however, is not intended to include major components not covered by or 6 <br />inferable from the drawings and specifications. 7 <br /> 8 <br /> 9 <br />WELDER QUALIFICATION 10 <br /> 11 <br />Where welding is required on vessels or piping with an ASME P- or S- stamp, qualify welders for welding procedures 12 <br />complying with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IX. Submit Welder's Performance Qualification 13 <br />Record required by the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. 14 <br /> 15 <br />For piping and structural supports welding, qualify welders in accordance with AWS QC7 Standard for AWS Certified 16 <br />Welders for welding procedures complying with ASME B31.1 or ASME B31.9, as applicable. Submit Welder's 17 <br />Performance Qualification Record required by ASME B31.1 or B31.9 and a copy of the most recent Maintenance of 18 <br />Welder Certification form submitted to AWS. 19 <br /> 20 <br />In addition, submit each welder's assigned number, letter, or symbol used to identify the work of the welder. 21 <br />This symbol shall be stamped in or adjacent to each completed weld. 22 <br /> 23 <br /> 24 <br />QUALITY ASSURANCE 25 <br /> 26 <br />The Contract Drawings indicate the extent and general arrangement of the Work. The Contractor shall coordinate the 27 <br />Work under his Contract so as to avoid conflicts between his work and the work of other trades. He shall carefully 28 <br />examine the Drawings and shall be responsible for the proper fitting of materials and equipment into the space 29 <br />provided. If any departures from the Contract Drawings are deemed necessary by the Contractor, detail drawings of 30 <br />such departures and the reasons therefore shall be submitted as soon as practicable to the A-E for his review. No 31 <br />such departures shall be made without this review and written clarification or change order. 32 <br /> 33 <br />If manufacturer recommended details or installation instructions differ from the contract drawings or 34 <br />specifications, then the contractor shall notify the A-E immediately of any discrepancies. 35 <br /> 36 <br />The Drawings and Specifications shall be considered supplementary, one to the other, so that materials and/or labor 37 <br />indicated, called for, or implied by one and not the other shall be provided as though specifically called for in both. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Firestop Materials Codes and Standards: Comply with ASTM Standard E814 and applicable categories of UL's 40 <br />current Fire Resistance Directory, Vol. I and II, for compliance with ANSI/UL Standard 1479. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Access Doors Fire-Resistance Ratings: Where fire-resistance rating is indicated for construction penetrated by 43 <br />access units, provide Listed and Labeled units. 44 <br /> 45 <br /> 46 <br />OBSERVATION 47 <br /> 48 <br />All work shall be done by skilled technicians, continuously supervised by the Contractor and subject to observation 49 <br />and final acceptance by the A-E. Such final acceptance shall in no way relieve the Contractor from responsibility for 50 <br />defects in either workmanship or material that may subsequently develop. 51 <br /> 52 <br /> 53 <br />SUBMITTALS 54 <br /> 55 <br />Submittals shall demonstrate compliance with technical requirements by reference to each subsection of this 56 <br />specification.
