ORANGE COUNTY 260534-2 <br /> <br />Emergency Management Warehouse Building Dehumidification Raceways <br /> <br /> <br />Rigid Metal Conduit Fittings: Provide cast malleable iron, galvanized or cadmium plated. 1 <br /> 2 <br />Use Type 1 fittings for raintight connections. 3 <br />Use Type 2 fittings for concrete tight connections. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Conduit Locknuts: Provide case-hardened steel locknuts for use on threaded raceway. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Conduit Bushings: 8 <br /> 9 <br />Insulated: Provide Listed and Labeled, threaded, thermosetting plastic bushings at each end of all threaded 10 <br />raceway. Provide grounding type if same is indicated elsewhere. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Grounding (bonding type): Provide Listed and Labeled, threaded, insulated throat, bonding type bushings. 13 <br />Provide steel frame bushings for use on ferrous raceway. Provide bushings with tin-plated copper 14 <br />grounding saddle sized to accept grounding conductor size as indicated on the Drawings. Where grounding 15 <br />conductors are oversized, provide separate copper grounding lugs that are appropriately sized. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Flexible Metal Conduit Fittings: Provide steel conduit fittings for use with flexible steel conduit of threadless hinged 18 <br />clamp type. All flexible metal conduit fittings shall be Listed as suitable for grounding. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Straight Terminal Connectors: Provide insulated throat type, one piece body, female end with clamp and 21 <br />deep slotted machine screw for securing conduit, and male threaded end provided with steel locknut. 22 <br /> 23 <br />45° or 90° Terminal Angle Connectors: Provide steel insulated throat type, two-piece body construction with 24 <br />removable upper section, female end with clamp and deep slotted machine screw for securing conduit, and 25 <br />male threaded end provided with steel locknut. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Liquid-Tight Flexible Metal Conduit Fittings: Type 1, Class 3, Style G. Provide cadmium plated, malleable iron 28 <br />fittings with compression type steel ferrule and neoprene gasket sealing rings, with insulated throat and steel locknut. 29 <br />All liquid tight flexible metal conduit fittings shall be Listed as suitable for grounding. 30 <br /> 31 <br />EMT Fittings: 32 <br /> 33 <br />EMT Conduit Couplings: Cadmium plated steel, dual compression type with two (2) hexagon compression 34 <br />fittings. Fittings that can not be tightened with an open-end wrench of the appropriate size are not 35 <br />acceptable. 36 <br /> 37 <br />EMT Conduit Connectors: Cadmium plated steel, insulated throat, compression type with hexagon 38 <br />compression fitting and steel locknut. Fittings that can not be tightened with an open-end wrench of the 39 <br />appropriate size are not acceptable. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Unacceptable fitting types: Pot metal, set screw, and indenter type fittings, or connectors that do not have 42 <br />insulated throats, are not acceptable for use on this project. 43 <br /> 44 <br />Conduit Bodies: Provide galvanized steel conduit bodies of types, shapes and sizes as required to fulfill job and NEC 45 <br />requirements. Conduit bodies shall be constructed with threaded conduit entrance ends, removable covers, either 46 <br />cast or of galvanized steel, and corrosion-resistant screws. 47 <br /> 48 <br />Metallic Conduit, and Tubing Accessories: Provide metallic conduit and tubing accessories of types, sizes, and 49 <br />materials, complying with manufacturer's published product information, which mate and match conduit and tubing. 50 <br /> 51 <br /> 52 <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION 53 <br /> 54 <br /> 55 <br />INSPECTION 56 <br /> 57 <br />Examine areas and conditions under which raceways are to be installed, and substrate that will support raceways. 58 <br />Notify A-E in writing of conditions detrimental to proper completion of the Work.
