Cables are not approved for use in this project under 1 <br />Division 26. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Connectors: 4 <br /> 5 <br />General: Provide factory-fabricated, metal connectors of sizes, ampacity ratings, materials, types and 6 <br />classes for applications and for services indicated. Where not indicated, provide proper selection as 7 <br />determined by Installer to comply with project's installation requirements, NEC and NEMA standards. Select 8 <br />from the following, those types, classes, kinds and styles of connectors to fulfill project requirements: 9 <br /> 10 <br />Type: Pressure, threaded 11 <br /> 12 <br />Class: Insulated 13 <br /> 14 <br />Kind: Copper (for Cu to Cu connection) 15 <br /> 16 <br />Style: Wirenut, wingnut, power distribution block 17 <br /> 18 <br />Use power distribution blocks or other splicing device having a minimum of one clamping screw per 19 <br />conductor where conductor size or quantity exceed limits for "wirenut" or "wingnut" type connectors. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Provide power distribution blocks that are attached to the gutter, box, or enclosure into which they 22 <br />are installed. Free-floating, unattached power distribution blocks are not acceptable. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Provide suitable insulating covers for all connection devices where such insulation is not a part of 25 <br />the device design. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Use of split bolt connectors, insulation piercing connectors, or tape as a means of insulating connection 28 <br />devices is not acceptable. 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION 32 <br /> 33 <br /> 34 <br />INSTALLATION OF WIRES AND CABLES 35 <br /> 36 <br />General: Install wires and wiring connectors as indicated, in compliance with applicable requirements of NEC, 37 <br />NEMA, UL, and NECA's "Standard of Installation," and in accordance with recognized industry practices. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Coordinate wire/cable installation work including electrical raceway and equipment installation work, as necessary to 40 <br />properly interface installation of wires/cables with other work. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Circuits of size #8 AWG and larger shall have Class B stranded conductors. 43 <br /> 44 <br />Power and lighting circuits #10 AWG and smaller shall have solid conductors. The minimum size for all power and 45 <br />lighting circuits shall be #12 AWG. 46 <br /> 47 <br />Control wiring shall have stranded conductors and a minimum size of #14 AWG. 48 <br /> 49 <br />Maximum size for feeders and service conductors shall be 500 kcmil. 50 <br /> 51 <br />Increase Drawing indicated size of conductors for ampacity and temperature rating as described below: 52 <br /> 53 <br />Conductor sizes shown on Drawings are based on the use of terminations Listed and Labeled for use at 75 54 <br />C. (167 F.). Where terminations are not Listed and Labeled for use at 75 C. (167 F.), the Contractor shall 55 <br />increase the size of the conductor as required to meet the temperature rating of the conductor in accordance 56 <br />with NEC Article 110.14(c).
