ORANGE COUNTY 260500-4 <br /> <br />Emergency Management Warehouse Building Dehumidification Basic Electrical Requirements <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ACCESSIBILITY 1 <br /> 2 <br />Contractor shall be responsible for the sufficiency of the size of shafts and chases and the adequate clearance in 3 <br />double partitions and hung ceilings for the proper installation of his work. He shall cooperate with all other trades 4 <br />whose work is in the same place and shall advise the General Contractor of his requirements. Such spaces and 5 <br />clearances shall be kept to the minimum size required for such installations. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Contractor shall locate all equipment that must be serviced, operated, or maintained in fully accessible positions and 8 <br />shall coordinate with other trades as necessary to meet the workspace requirements of the National Electrical Code. 9 <br />Equipment where such space is required includes switchboards, motor control centers, panelboards, fire alarm 10 <br />control panels, telephone and data terminal panels and cabinets, and similar items. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Minor deviations from Drawings may be made to allow improved accessibility. Submit requests for all changes to the 13 <br />A-E for approval. Relocation of equipment, should such be required to meet NEC workspace requirements, shall be 14 <br />made by the Contractor at no additional cost. 15 <br /> 16 <br /> 17 <br />CONCEALED RACEWAY 18 <br /> 19 <br />In general, all raceway or cable wiring methods in finished spaces shall be run concealed in walls, partitions, 20 <br />structural concrete panels, or above ceilings. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Exterior Raceway: Raceway may not be routed on exterior surfaces of the building or across a building roof 23 <br />(either above, below, or within roof insulation) unless specifically indicated on the Drawings. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Raceway Below Concrete Floor Slabs: Raceway may not be routed below concrete floor slabs unless such 26 <br />is specifically shown on the Drawings. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Concealment of raceway and covering of same shall not be done until authorized by the Authority Having Jurisdiction 29 <br />(AHJ). This applies to all interior work and exterior work. 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />SLEEVES AND PLATES 33 <br /> 34 <br />Contractor shall provide and locate all sleeves and inserts required, or shall be responsible for the cost of cutting and 35 <br />patching required where sleeves and/or inserts were not installed, or where incorrectly located. The Contractor shall 36 <br />be responsible for all drilling required for the installation of his hangers. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Sleeves shall be provided for all raceway passing through concrete, masonry, or tile wall, floor, or overhead deck 39 <br />construction. Sleeves shall be constructed of Schedule 40 black steel pipe unless otherwise indicated on Drawings. 40 <br />Sleeves through concrete beams shall be constructed as indicated on Drawings. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Fasten sleeves securely in walls so that they will not become displaced when other construction is built around them. 43 <br />Take precautions to prevent concrete, plaster, or other materials being forced into the space between raceway and 44 <br />sleeve during construction. 45 <br /> 46 <br />Escutcheon plates shall be provided for all exposed (where permitted) raceway passing through walls and ceilings. 47 <br />Plates shall be nickel plated, of the split ring type, of size to match the raceway.
