ORANGE COUNTY 260500-1 <br /> <br />Emergency Management Warehouse Building Dehumidification Basic Electrical Requirements <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 260500 - BASIC ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS 1 <br /> 2 <br />PART 1 - GENERAL 3 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br />RELATED DOCUMENTS 6 <br /> 7 <br />Drawings and general provisions of Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division-1 8 <br />Specification sections, apply to work of this section. 9 <br /> 10 <br /> 11 <br />SCOPE 12 <br /> 13 <br />The electrical design for this project is based on the requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA-70, 14 <br />2017 Edition. Where not restricted to more stringent requirements by the Drawings and Specifications, the minimum 15 <br />requirements of the NEC shall prevail. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Contractor shall coordinate the work and equipment of this Division with the work and equipment specified elsewhere 18 <br />in order to assure a complete and satisfactory installation. 19 <br /> 20 <br />It is the intention of these Specifications and Drawings to call for finished work, tested and ready for operation. 21 <br />Whenever the words "supply," "provide," or "furnish" are used, it shall mean "furnish and install complete and ready 22 <br />for use at no additional cost." 23 <br /> 24 <br />Minor details not usually shown or specified, but necessary for the proper installation and operation, shall be included 25 <br />in the Work the same as if herein specified or shown. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Some items of equipment are specified in the singular; however, the Contractor shall provide and install the number 28 <br />of items of equipment as indicated on the Drawings, and as required for complete systems. The words “and” and “or” 29 <br />shall be interpreted in both the singular and plural sense (and/or) as appropriate to the use. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Electrical service entrance equipment arrangements for temporary and permanent connections to the Owner's 32 <br />system shall conform to the Owner's requirements. Coordinate circuit breakers with the existing system. 33 <br /> 34 <br />All ampacities or other conductor references where indicated or otherwise specified in the Drawings or Specifications 35 <br />are based on copper conductors. Aluminum conductors are not acceptable and will not be permitted. 36 <br /> 37 <br /> 38 <br />DEFINITIONS 39 <br /> 40 <br />Definitions for "Concealed" and "Exposed" are provided for the purpose of specifying wiring methods or for defining 41 <br />the appearance of finished work and are not the same as definitions used in the National Electrical Code. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Concealed: Work within or behind various construction elements or in crawl spaces or trenches that is not exposed 44 <br />to view when the project is complete. 45 <br /> 46 <br />Exposed: Not "concealed" as defined above, or anything exposed to view when the project is complete. 47 <br /> 48 <br />Labeled: Equipment or materials to which has been attached a label, symbol, or other identifying mark of an 49 <br />organization accredited by NCBCC (North Carolina Building Code Council) to label electrical equipment and 50 <br />concerned with product evaluation, that maintains periodic inspection of production of labeled equipment or materials 51 <br />and by whose labeling the manufacturer indicates compliance with appropriate standards or performance in a 52 <br />specified manner. 53 <br /> 54 <br />Listed: Equipment or materials included in a list published by an organization accredited by NCBCC (North Carolina 55 <br />Building Code Council) to label electrical equipment and concerned with product evaluation, that maintains periodic 56 <br />inspection of production of listed equipment or materials, and whose listing states either that the equipment or 57 <br />material meets appropriate designated standards or has been tested and found suitable for use in a specified 58 <br />manner. 59 <br /> 60 <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 7668B866-6C26-485C-9A45-DAAB5D4BD951
