ORANGE COUNTY 230511 - 4 <br /> <br />Emergency Management Warehouse Building Dehumidification Electrical Provisions for HVAC Work <br /> <br /> <br />Auxiliary Contacts: Provide two sets of normally open auxiliary contacts and two sets of normally closed auxiliary 1 <br />contacts. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Provide additional sets of normally open and/or normally closed auxiliary contacts is such are required to 4 <br />accomplish control functions as defined by the drawings or required by specified control and interlock 5 <br />sequence(s). 6 <br /> 7 <br />Provide additional sets of contacts as required to operate pilot lights as described elsewhere. Contacts 8 <br />required to operate pilot lights are not shown on the Drawings. Contacts required to operate pilot lights 9 <br />are to be furnished at no additional cost. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Accessories on Cover: Provide the following accessories on the combination starter cover. 12 <br /> 13 <br /> Reset Pushbutton 14 <br /> 15 <br /> Hand-Off-Automatic (HOA) Switch 16 <br /> 17 <br /> Push to Start Switch 18 <br /> 19 <br />Pilot Lights on Cover: Pilot lights are to be transformer types, configured to operate from the same voltage as the 20 <br />motor starter coil. Provide the following pilot lights on the starter cover. 21 <br /> 22 <br /> Red Pilot Light, illuminated when starter is energized 23 <br /> 24 <br /> Green Pilot Light, illuminated when starter is not energized 25 <br /> 26 <br />Disconnect Auxiliary Contacts: Provide 2 pole disconnect auxiliary contacts for control circuits where control circuits 27 <br />are provided from a separate electrical source. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Coils: Provide starters with operating coils for 120 volts. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Control Transformer: Provide control transformer having a primary voltage rating to match the line-to-line voltage of 32 <br />the motor supplied by the starter and a secondary voltage to match the voltage of the starter coil. Size control 33 <br />transformer to supply the starter and all pilot devices supplied with a 25% reserve capacity for additional pilot devices. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Provide NEMA-rated enclosure type suitable for its environment as required by Section 230511. 36 <br /> 37 <br /> 38 <br />COMBINATION MOTOR STARTERS 39 <br /> 40 <br />General: Combination starters may be used in lieu of separate disconnect and motor starter. Provide 41 <br />surface-mounted, heavy duty, steel enclosed combination motor starters meeting requirements described for motor 42 <br />starters. Provide combination motor starters with NEMA size rating, voltage rating, current rating, and number of 43 <br />poles indicated on the Drawings. 44 <br /> 45 <br />Circuit Breakers: Provide factory-assembled, molded-case circuit breakers with permanent instantaneous magnetic 46 <br />trips in each pole, with fault-current interrupting rating suitable for application and ampere ratings as indicated. 47 <br />Circuit breaker ratings must be clearly visible when the compartment door is open without the necessity of removing 48 <br />operating mechanisms or similar items to obtain visibility. Where adjustable circuit breakers are provided, such 49 <br />adjustments must be also be readily accessible once the compartment door is opened. Provide push-to-trip feature 50 <br />for testing and exercising circuit breaker trip mechanism. Construct breakers for mounting and operating in any 51 <br />physical position and in ambient temperature of 40 C. Provide with AL/CU rated screw type removable connector 52 <br />lugs. Field coordinate all circuit breaker sizes with equipment nameplate ratings prior to purchase. 53 <br /> 54 <br />Disconnect Operators: Provide external operator handles for circuit breakers. Design handle with up-down motion 55 <br />and with down position indicating “OFF." Combination Motor Starters with rotary type circuit breaker operators are 56 <br />not acceptable.
