She did <br /> 6 not hear back from Arts Commission staff on if they had talked to him but that she will get that <br /> 7 information for the Board. <br /> 8 Commissioner Hamilton said Mark Bettger is a good addition because he is the interim <br /> 9 director of the Arts Center. <br /> 10 The Board agreed by consensus on the recommended applicant. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 <br /> 13 6. Commission for the Environment—Appointments Discussion <br /> 14 The Board discussed appointments to the Commission for the Environment. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 BACKGROUND: The Commission for the Environment advises the Board of Commissioners <br /> 17 on matters affecting the environment with particular emphasis on protection. It educates public <br /> 18 and local officials on environmental issues and performs special studies and projects. It also <br /> 19 recommends environmental initiatives and study changes in environmental science and local <br /> 20 and federal regulations. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 The Board of County Commissioners appoints all fifteen members, including 10 At-Large <br /> 23 members and five members with expertise in specific fields. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 The following individuals are recommended for Board consideration: <br /> 26 <br /> NAME POSITION TYPE OF EXPIRATION <br /> DESCRIPTION APPOINTMENT DATE <br /> TERM <br /> Taylor Oakley At-Large Partial Term 12/31/2022 <br /> Ian Morse At-Large Partial Term 12/31/2023 <br /> 27 <br /> 28 If the individuals listed above are appointed, the following vacancy remains: <br /> 29 <br /> POSITION EXPIRATION VACANCY INFORMATION <br /> DESIGNATION DATE <br /> At-Large 12/31/2024 Vacant since 02/08/2022. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Tara May introduced the item.
