Acceptance of Planning Jurisdiction over Two (2) Parcels to Orange County <br /> 17 The Board received the property owner petition and Town of Chapel Hill resolution, and <br /> 18 accepted assignment of planning jurisdiction into Orange County for two (2) parcels. <br /> 19 i. Women's History Month Proclamation <br /> 20 The Board approved a proclamation recognizing March 2022 as Women's History Month in <br /> 21 Orange County. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 9. County Manager's Report <br /> 24 Bonnie Hammersley said the county hired a new Sustainability Project Coordinator, Amy <br /> 25 Eckberg. She said that she spent 13 years with Wake County and then time with the Virginia <br /> 26 Clean Cities. She said she has heard from staff that this individual is highly impressive. <br /> 27 Bonnie Hammersley reminded the Board there will be a work session on March 101h <br /> 28 She said that the Board will hear from 10 boards for their annual report and will review <br /> 29 appointments to boards and commissions. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 10. County Attorney's Report <br /> 32 John Roberts said the state legislature passed a new law regarding county <br /> 33 commissioners serving on non-profit boards. He said that some Board members serve on non- <br /> 34 profit boards that receive funding from the county, so they will need to work with him on a way to <br /> 35 excuse themselves from those votes. He shared that Town of Chapel Hill is discussing an <br /> 36 option of making elected officials part of an advisory board for the non-profits, specifically for <br /> 37 Community Home Trust, rather than being on their governing board. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 11. *Appointments <br /> 40 None. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 12.
