P a g e 12 of 12

Local Economic Development

32. How many Orange County residents are employed by your organization?

218

33. What percent of project materials will be purchased from sources within Orange County or North
Carolina?

We will state a preference for trees to be sourced within Orange County and North Carolina, but
we do not know what the final percentage will be at this time.

34. Please describe any other aspect of your project that is relevant to local economic development.

Amount and Duration of Engagement

35. Please describe how you will engage with and/or educate project participants.

If awarded, our plan is to work directly with the residents within these Census block groups (e.g.,
Northside Neighborhood) to inquire about the best locations for planting trees. We are also
considering tree signage (tags) that would promote and educate about the positive impacts of
the project, including the ecosystem service benefits.

36. How will you measure the success of that engagement or educational effort?

We have a biannual community survey, as well as a climate action survey that we ran for the first
time this spring and summer. We could use both or one of these to inquire about whether or not
residents are aware of this and other climate action projects. We could also speak with
community leaders and residents within the two Census block groups to gauge their perspective.

37. Please describe any other aspect of your project that is relevant to the amount, or quality, or length
of engagement and education that your project will produce.

Time to Complete

38. How much time will your project require to demonstrate the positive impacts you describe?

If awarded, we estimate that this project could be completed within 3-6 months.
DocuSign Envelope ID: 8858BEA8-FD65-4E72-A32A-868C9BDDE075
