While staff fielded some
questions from prospective applicants from the private sector, no private sector applications were received.
Following the scoring and eligibility guidelines of the Board of Orange County Commissioners (BOCC),the
applications were reviewed and scored by the Commission for the Environment(CFE) and the Human Relations
Commission (HRC). The BOCC asked the Human Relations Commission to score the applications on the Social
Justice and Racial Equity criterion, as this pertains to their expertise and because the racial representation of the
CFE as a whole does not reflect the racial diversity of Orange County. The HRC and the CFE discussed the scoring
process, reviewed application materials, and shared thoughts on each application over the course of three
monthly meetings and on December 14th each of these Commissions voted to pass their final scoring and
comments on each application along to the BOCC.
The following is a rank-order summary table of the combined project scoring and recommendations. A full table
showing the scores for each project on each of the 7 scoring elements is included in the Appendix.
Total
Rank
Fundin Recommended Score
Project Applicant (Collaborators)
Requested Funding Level Out of
Out of 7
applications)
25is
Solar Panels on
Affordable Habitat Habitat for Humanity of $95,000 95,000 21.7 1
Homes Orange County
NAACP of Chapel Hill and
Water Heater Carrboro (Rebuilding
Replacement
Together of the Triangle $122, 100 122,100 21.2 2
and Habitat for Humanity of
Orange County)
P.O.
