You <br /> actively participated in and provided your expert guidance to the advisory board for your department, the Planning Board . <br /> You also provided guidance to many Commissioners and provided numerous presentations to help the BOCC understand <br /> the complex issues that were brought before them . Your skills as a planning professional helped them achieve a greater <br /> understanding of the matters under your jurisdiction . <br /> During your tenure, the Orange County population grew by more than 25 percent, and your professional expertise helped <br /> guide and manage this growth in a responsible manner . <br /> You collaborated with many departments , including Transportation, Solid Waste, Economic Development, DEAPR, Tax <br /> and many others , and established valuable relationships with the towns and other entities within the county . <br /> IN <br /> Your imprint in Orange County will remain for decades to come, as you have mentored staff and provided leadership to so <br /> many . A testament to the contributions that you have made for Orange County include the following , <br /> • Water and sewer in both the Efland-Buckhorn-Mebane area and Rogers Road area <br /> • Improvement in coordination with N . C . Department of Transportation <br /> • SAPFO ( Schools Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance) adoption, administration, and implementation <br /> • Development and implementation of the Joint Hillsborough Strategic Growth Plan <br /> • Development and Implementation of Orange County ' s 2008 Comprehensive Plan <br /> Your fun and optimistic personality will be missed .
