She said that the WIOA streamlines membership of business-led, <br /> 6 state and local workforce development boards. She said the act emphasizes the role of boards <br /> 7 in coordinating and aligning workforce programs and adds funds to develop strategies to meet <br /> 8 worker and employer needs. She said the WIOA emphasizes engaging employers across the <br /> 9 workforce system to align training with needed skills and match employers with qualified <br /> 10 workers. She said the act adds flexibility at the local level to provide incumbent worker training <br /> 11 and transitional jobs as allowable activities and promotes work-based training. She said the law <br /> 12 also emphasizes training that leads to industry recognized post-secondary credentials. She <br /> 13 said the WIOA aligns the performance indicators for core programs and adds new ones related <br /> 14 to services for employers and postsecondary credential attainment.
