ORANGE COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY <br /> ADVISORY BOARD MEETING <br /> O.�,&CHCD <br /> ORANGE COUNTY HQUSING&COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 6:00 PMVIRTUAL MEETING: https://zoom.us/i/98126441099 <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> Board Members & Staff Attending: Evelyn Johann, Alice Mahood, Corey Root, Blake Rosser, Valerie <br /> Sauer, Michael Webb <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. <br /> A motion was made to approve January 2022 Minutes of the OCHA Board meeting [Mahood, Sauer]. <br /> All in favor, none opposed. <br /> Member Updates: <br /> -Michael Webb has new job working for a consulting firm based in DC—very much similar <br /> work but not for University; currently doing Housing Needs Assessment for a town in Ohio <br /> -Alice Mahood also has new job, Financial Analysis Strategist for City of Cary, also sitting on <br /> Homelessness Advisory Board for them <br /> -Corey offered to speak with her about homelessness given past expertise w/OCPEH. <br /> -MW: Did anyone else get invited to Habitat for Humanity breakfast in a few weeks? (No) <br /> Corey Root, OCHCD Executive Director gave the monthly report. Orange County Housing Authority <br /> continues successful utilization of allocated vouchers. <br /> • HCV Program Update <br /> • VMS numbers unchanged from last month due to date of submission, <br /> next month we will report January numbers and in April both Feb/Mar <br /> • 174 vouchers issued (since Oct. 2020), 109 leased up <br /> • Avg. lease-up time 106 days (up from 96 last month due to a <br /> couple long-term searchers finally leasing up) <br /> • Median time 86 days (up from 79) <br /> • Have developed tiered support using Housing Access Coordinator and <br /> OCPEH staff... 60 days linked to OCPEH and Service Providers, 90 days <br /> referred to HAC <br /> • In the past, OCHA terminated folks in extended housing search, but we <br /> are now taking more trauma-informed approach. <br /> • PBV update <br /> • 2 developments coming on line in which we're hopeful to have <br /> PBV: Jay St. development with CHT, and Homestead Gardens <br /> development w/several different developers including Habitat, <br /> Casa and (possibly) self-help.
