I also taught at the community college and university level for many <br /> years and have server of institutional boards ranging for student discipline, academic <br /> programming, and area budgets. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> As higher education becomes an economic and societal requirement, community colleges must <br /> lead the way towards affordable educational goals. I would like to serve on this committee to <br /> ensure Durham Tech is well placed to serve our local community and students in their <br /> educational and career development pursuits. <br /> Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board: <br /> Having attended and taught at colleges/universities from several different states, I have <br /> experienced a range of ideologies, institutional practices, and traditions.
