Each grant recipient must match the <br />grant amount with local dollars in order to receive funding. <br />In regard to the funds being "Spring 2003" funds, it should be noted that the finds received <br />from state government are considered "Spring 2003" funds based an haw the state processes <br />funding allocations to recipient counties, It is also worth noting that the "Spring" distribution of <br />funds normally occurs in the early fall of each year, and distribution was delayed this year due <br />to state budget issues. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact an Orange County, as this action represents <br />a pass-through of state funds, <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board acknowledge the local <br />recipients of the awards during the December 9, 2003 meeting with the presentation of checks <br />by the Chair, <br />
