Hydraulic cement grout shall be a cement base, quick set compound <br />which effectively and permanently stops hydrostatic water infiltration <br />through concrete or masonry. It shall be use d as recommended by the <br />manufacturer. It shall be "waterplug" as manufactured by Thoro System <br />Products, "Preco Plug" as manufactured by Fosroc Preco, or equal. <br /> <br />C. Hydraulic waterproof sealant shall be cementituous base grouting <br />compound designed specifically for providing a hydraulic waterproof <br />coating for concrete or masonry walls, which when applied, becomes an <br />integral part of the concrete or masonry surface. It shall be "Thoro -seal" <br />as manufactured by Thoro System Products, "Brush -Bond" as <br />manufactured by Fosroc Preco, or equal. <br /> <br />2.14 Crushed Stone: Crushed stone for pipe bedding shall conform to ASTM C33, <br />size no. 57. <br /> <br />2.15 Pipe Adapters: Connections between dissimilar pipe materials or pipe with <br />different diameters shall be made using flexible couplings with s tainless steel <br />bands conforming to ASTM Specification C594 -70, or using PVC adapter "donut" <br />fittings conforming to applicable portions of ASTM Specifications C443, C425, <br />C594, and D1869. A Smith-Blair Type 242 or 243 with 6" band width, CLOW <br />CORP., Type 1202 or 1212, or equal, all purpose repair clamp will be acceptable. <br /> Concrete collars will not be allowed unless specifically called for or directed by <br />the Engineer in the field. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.1 LOCATIONS <br /> <br />Pipework shall be installed at the locations shown on the Plans and to the <br />position, alignment, and grade shown thereon. Prior to beginning work at any <br />location, the Contractor shall consult with the Engineer and Owner to determine <br />that all rights-of-way, permits, or other legalities are in order. He shall familiarize <br />himself with all conditions and/or limitations of such rights-of-way or permits and <br />shall fully comply with all such requirements. <br /> <br />3.2 RELATION OF SEWERS TO WATER MAINS <br /> <br />A. Crossing a sewer under a water main: Whenever it is necessary fo r a <br />sewer to cross under a water main, the sewer shall be laid at such <br />elevation that the top of the sewer is at least 18" below t he bottom of the <br />water main, unless local conditions or barriers prevent an 18" vertical <br />separation -- in which case both the water main and sewer shall be <br />constructed of ferrous materials and with joints that are equivalent to water <br />main standards for a distance of 10' on each side of the point of crossing. <br /> <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: BBF56E0A-3618-497E-AA70-92F097E8F598
