This Section includes the following: <br />1. Hot-mix asphalt paving. <br />2. Hot-mix asphalt overlays. <br />3. Pavement-marking paint. <br />B. Related Sections include the following: <br />1. Clearing and Demolition Section 31 10 00 <br />2. Earthwork Section 31 20 00 <br />3. Aggregate Base Course Section 32 11 23 <br /> <br />1.2 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION <br />A. Provide hot-mix asphalt pavement according to the materials, workmanship, and other <br />applicable requirements of the standard specifications of the state or of authorities <br />having jurisdiction. <br />1. Comply with requirements of North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />(NCDOT or DOT). <br />1.3 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Product Data: For each product specified. Include technical data and tested physical <br />and performance properties. <br />B. Job-Mix Designs: Certification, by DOT, of approval of each job mix proposed for the <br />Work. <br />C. Qualification Data: For firms and persons specified in the "Quality Assurance" Article to <br />demonstrate their capabilities and experience. Include lists of completed projects with <br />project names and addresses, names and addresses of architects and owners, and <br />other information specified. <br />D. Material Test Reports: Indicate and interpret test results for compliance of materials <br />with requirements indicated. <br />1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Installer Qualifications: Engage an experienced installer who has completed hot -mix <br />asphalt paving similar in material, design, and extent to that indicated for this Project <br />and with a record of successful in-service performance. <br />B. Manufacturer Qualifications: Engage a firm experienced in manufacturing hot -mix <br />asphalt similar to that indicated for this Project and with a record of successful in - <br />service performance. <br />C.
