SPECIAL CONDITIONS <br /> <br /> <br />High Rock Waste & Recycling Center Improvements SC - 7 <br />Orange County, North Carolina JULY 2021 <br />DAA PN R00592-213N <br /> <br /> <br />S-26 - CONSTRUCTION NOTES <br /> <br />26.1 The Contractor shall maintain a minimum of one lane of traffic at all times as specified <br />herein before in the Supplemental General Conditions in conformance with the latest <br />North Carolina Department of Transportation Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices <br />for Street and Highway unless otherwise permitted by the Owner. <br /> <br />26.2 The Contractor shall maintain driveway connections to the road system to provide <br />access for residents and businesses along the construction route. Disruption of access <br />shall be held to a minimum. <br /> <br />26.3 Contractor to coordinate with the Town, County or Owner for the interruption of utility <br />services. Down time of the existing utility lines shall be held to a minimum. <br /> <br />26.4 All work shall be performed in accordance with approved permits and encroachments. <br /> <br />26.5 Contractor shall be responsible for coordination with power utility for temporary or <br />permanent relocation of power poles to allow for sewer installation. This shall be <br />considered part of the Base Bid <br /> <br />26.6 The work to be done by the Contractor, specified and enumerated under this contract, <br />shall include any minor details of the work not specifically mentioned in the specifications <br />or shown on the plans, but obviously necessary for the proper completion of the work, <br />which shall be considered incidental and as being a part of and included with the work <br />for which prices are given in the Bid. The Contractor will not be entitled to any additional <br />compensation therefore. <br /> <br />26.7 Verification of Dimensions and Elevations: Dimensions and elevations indicated on the <br />drawings in reference to existing structures, location of utilities, sewer inverts, or other <br />information on existing facilities, are the best available data obtainable but are not <br />guaranteed by the Engineer. The Engineer will not be responsible for their accuracy. <br />Before proceeding with any work dependent upon the data involved, the Contractor shall <br />field check and verify all dimensions, grades, inverts, lines, elevations, or other <br />conditions of limitations at the site of the work to avoid construction errors or damaged to <br />existing facilities. If any work is performed by the Contractor, or any subcontractors, prior <br />to adequate verification of applicable data, any resultant extra cost for adjustment of <br />work necessary to conform to existing conditions, or damage to existing facilities, shall <br />be assumed by the Contractor without reimbursement or compensation by the Owner. <br /> <br /> If the Contractor in the course of the work finds any discrepancy between the drawings <br />and the physical conditions of the locality or any errors or omissions in drawings or in the <br />layout as given by survey points and instructions, he shall immediately inform the <br />Engineer, in writing. The Engineer will promptly investigate the reported conditions and <br />issue such instructions as may be necessary for the proper execution of the work.
