VISIT CSL'S ONLINE FILING PORTAL The records of the Charitable Solicitation Licensing Division of the Department of the Secretary of State indicate that your organization's license to solicit charitable contributions in North Carolina expires on(November 15, 2021). If your organization uses a third party filer,your organization is solely responsible for providing the filer with the information in this document as outlined in the paragraphs that follow. For your convenience, on-line filing is available for charity/sponsor applicants WWW.SOSNC.GOV/CSL. CSL highly recommend on-line filings. Your profile information will pre-populate with the information provided on your last application with the option to make any updates. Payments of licensing fees and any other fees are accepted via credit card and electronic check;however,there is a small fee of$2.00 per transaction to file on-line. For your convenience,here are the Application Online Filing Instructions. If you prefer to continue to file in paper form,you may obtain an application from our website at https://www.sosnc.gov/forms/by_title%Charities_Charities_Sponsors as well as any additional forms you may need for the process, including the Annual Financial Report Form and the Fundraising Disclosure Form. EXTENSION INFORMATION Your organization has been granted an extension of 60 days,this means, if your organization has a current-active license,your renewal deadline is now(January 15,2022). To avoid late fees,your application must be filed in the Department no later than(January 15,2022). Your organization may also request one additional 30 day extension. To file such a request,you are required to provide the Department with a copy of your IRS Form 8868,which you may file on-line,via email at CSL@SOSNC.GOV or fax to us at 919.807.2220. It is imperative that your completed application and required financial information OR your additional extension request reach the Department on or before the deadline of(January 15,2022). Also,please be advised that a charitable organization or a sponsor that does not plan to solicit contributions in the State upon the expiration of its license, shall notify the Department and file a financial report within 90 days (February 15,2022)of the expiration date of the license. Any solicitation activity your organization conducts after your license expires and/or your extension ends will be deemed a violation of State law and may subject your organization to financial penalties. Your organization may not legally solicit contributions without a valid,current license. Thank you for your prompt and complete response to the renewal requirements.
