I was active in 4-H from 9-19 and am a Virginia State 4-H All-Star. I graduated from <br /> Davidson College in 1984 and went on to complete a masters in public health from the Gillings School of <br /> Global Public Health at UNC-Chapel Hill and a doctorate in public health policy from The Bloomberg <br /> School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. I have held academic and public service positions in <br /> public health over the course of my career. I have served as a deacon and an elder at First Presbyterian <br /> Church in Burlington and continue to serve both the local church and Salem Presbytery in various ways <br /> (social justice, clergy and church health, etc.).
