SIM WORKSHOP: EXISTING RESOURCES (CON'T) <br /> Intercept II.Existing Resources for Initial Detention/Initial Court Hearings <br /> Individuals may be deflected from the justice system through the Pre-Arrest Diversion Program (OC PAD) and SOHRAD. <br /> ■ Brief Jail Mental Health Screen is used to identify those with potential mental health issues upon booking.Those who screen positive are referred <br /> to the Detention Center medical staff for further evaluation. <br /> Screening for suicide risk also occurs at booking. <br /> • Screening for other medical conditions,such as substance use history,also occurs at booking. A nurse is in the jail to provide medical care,but <br /> not 24/7. <br /> The Pretrial Release Case Manager completes an intake with each person in the Detention Center on the first business day after they have been <br /> arrested. <br /> ■ A Pretrial Risk and Needs Assessment is also completed for everyone with a first appearance hearing. Individuals with behavioral issues are <br /> identified in these intakes and information is shared with mental health professionals at the qRD,who follow up accordingly. <br /> 35 <br />
