He
said the website has a host of history for steps and decisions taken and made to date. He
resumed the PowerPoint presentation:
Slide #7
Questions and Comments
Commissioner Bedford said some people are saying the land will be sold to a for-profit
developer, and asked if Craig Benedict could clarify.
Craig Benedict said no decisions about how housing will be placed on the development
have been made. He said nothing can move forward without an additional resolution agreed
upon by the three local governments.
Commissioner Bedford said usually the land is not sold, but rather is donated. She said
developers are typically contracted to do what the three local governments have determined will
be done.
Craig Benedict said the three local governments will likely set parameters of what they
expect, which is one of the methods to create affordable-housing. He said it would be land within the preserve, but outside of the jurisdictional and
regulatory buffers for the most part.
