I understand, we all get our turn; however, this is one time
when equity ought not to be the goal.
During my brieftenure with the Commission, T have enjoyed my time with you all and leave
knowing that you all will continue with its critical mission. I realize that the mission of the
Commission and that of the HR.&RC is not a `sexy' one; however, I believe they aze vital not only
for the women of Orange County, but also for the community at lazge, and the state as a whole,
Whenever I would feel too tired to attend these meetings or any of the many others of which I am
a part, I always reminded myself of a paraphrased quote I once heard, "Time doesn't change
anything - it never did; people do -people with vision and commitment." I believe, altogether
unreservedly, that it is grassroots people and efforts like ours that create this change, Continue on.
I remain,
In the struggle,
Frances Shabazz, J,D.
/fs
