1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: January 18, 2022 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-j <br /> SUBJECT: Change in BOCC Meeting Schedule for 2022 <br /> DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Laura Jensen, Clerk to the Board, 919- <br /> 245-2130 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider changes to the Board of Commissioners' meeting calendar for 2022. <br /> BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br /> Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change <br /> in the Meeting Schedule. <br /> It is proposed that all meetings scheduled to occur through June 2022 at the Southern Human <br /> Services Center be relocated to the Whitted Building in Hillsborough. The change in location <br /> will allow for greater distancing between attendees due to current public health concerns. <br /> It is also proposed to reschedule the May 17, 2022 Business Meeting to May 24, 2022, due to <br /> the primary election scheduled for May 17, 2022. <br /> The proposed amended calendar through June 2022 is as follows: <br /> February 2022 Meetings <br /> February 1 BOCC Business Meeting — 7:00 pm —Whitted Building <br /> February 8 BOCC Work Session — 7:00 pm —Whitted Building <br /> February 17 BOCC Business Meeting — 7:00 pm —Whitted Building <br /> February 22 BOCC Joint Meeting with Schools—7:00 pm—Whitted Building <br /> March 2022 Meetings <br /> March 1 BOCC Business Meeting — 7:00 pm — Whitted Building <br /> March 10 BOCC Work Session — 7:00 pm —Whitted Building <br /> March 15 BOCC Business Meeting — 7:00 pm — Whitted Building <br /> March 21 Legislative Breakfast — 8:30 am —Whitted Building <br />
