NORTH CAROLINA <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> THIS AGREEMENT,made and entered into the_day of <br /> by and between Ornge County,North Cambria.200 S. Cameron Street.Hillsborough. <br /> North Catalog,hereinafter refined to as"County' and the University ofNOrth Carolina at <br /> Chapel Hill for and on behalf of it Small Business and Technology Development Center, <br /> 333 Fayetteville Street Mall, Suite 1150,Raleigh,North Carolina 2]601-1]02,hereinafter <br /> referred to as the"SBTDC', <br /> WfMESSET'H: <br /> WHEREAS,the on-going work of the Runge County SBTDC is consistent with <br /> the Orange County Economic Des'elopmmt Strategic Plan;and <br /> WHEREAS,the work of the Orsnge County SBTDC,the development of more <br /> comprehensive small business information,and apublic awareness and educational <br /> program on then i avail able to small business,is an integral pan of meeting the <br /> objectives spccifiedin the Orange County Economic Dwclopmen[Strategic Plan and <br /> WHEREAS,the @rose County Economic Development Commission,hereinafter <br /> referred to as the EDC,has endorsed the Orange County SBTDC concept,and has <br /> comuraged the County's support,financial and otherwise;and <br /> WHEREAS,the EDC is an agency of me County; and <br /> WHEREAS,economic development is an important public purpose which can be <br /> aided by contributions of Orange County[mots;and <br /> WHEREAS,Orange County supports the Economic Development Stm[egic Plan, <br /> and public-privAc wtiatives to implement the Plan. <br /> Now,therdom,at consideration of the above and the momil covenants and <br /> considerations hereinafter set mi me County and the SBTDC agree as follows: <br /> Firm,in consideration of the EEC's ongoing support,the SBTDC will maintain a <br /> regional office in Gangs Cowry This will consist, at minimum,of the presence of those <br /> professional staff members in the County. <br /> Second,the SBTDC will make its general business committing;services and more <br /> specialized services and counseling in the areas of international made,technology <br /> developmen ,and government procurement(including Pro-Bid)available to small fitms <br /> and would-be enfreprepeurs fluoughout the Count Whvc appropriate SBTDC will work <br /> with specific clients reported by IM MC. <br /> TTird,one or more resources libraries will be maintained in the County and hand- <br /> outmatenalswillbeavailable.
