Orange County <br />Waste Composition Study <br />Section 3: Results <br />19 <br />Orange County/Report/Final Report <br />3.5 Commercial MSW <br />Figure 3-4 depicts the annual composition for commercial MSW. Table 3-7 provides the composition <br />of commercial MSW by season, including 90 percent confidence intervals. Table 3-8 compares the <br />annual commercial MSW composition in the present WCS to previous WCS results. Individual <br />commercial sample results are provided in Appendix D. <br />Key findings from the commercial data include: <br /> Approximately 21 percent of commercial MSW consisted of program recyclables. As with <br />residential MSW, the fall commercial MSW stream had a higher percentage of program <br />recyclables than in the spring. <br /> Nearly 47 percent of commercial MSW consisted of compostable materials, more than half of <br />which was Food Waste. <br /> Commercial MSW showed similar historical trends as residential waste in that total paper <br />decreased whereas total plastics and total organics increased. <br /> <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 00C54720-9DC0-4A3D-ABED-77E0FD28E0CD
