Year-to-Date Budget Gary Donaldson, (919) 245-2453 <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve a budget amendment for Fiscal Year 2021-22. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Health Department <br /> 1. The Orange County Health Department has received $115,000 in federal pass through <br /> grant funds to support the COVID-19 pandemic response. The grant service period runs <br /> from June 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022. Funding will be used for a temporary full -time Public <br /> Health School Liaison for the coordination of COVID-19 screening, testing, and vaccine <br /> administration and other mitigation efforts. This budget amendment provides for the receipt <br /> of these funds and the creation of this temporary position, with end date of May 31, 2022. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> Northern Campus Energy Incentives <br /> 2. The Asset Management Services Department has received notice from Duke Energy that <br /> it will receive an energy incentive funds for the installation of solar panels at Northern <br /> Campus. Duke Energy has assessed the incentive for the Detention Center at $118,000 <br /> and the Parks Ops Base at $13,500. The County is expecting a similar incentive for the <br /> Bonnie B. Davis Center shortly. These incentive payments will be appropriated in the <br /> Northern Campus Capital Project to purchase any remaining furnishings and equipment <br /> required at the buildings. <br />
