The Human Relations Commission has planned activities <br /> during the month. The Human Relations Commission has developed the theme, 'Building <br /> Bruited: From Tolerance to Acceptance"W promote the ideal that we must all strive to create <br /> an atmosphere where people are valued and accepted rather than merely tolerated. Centered <br /> amund the 'Building Bridges' theme,the Human Relations Commission will, during the month <br /> of February, host the following activities: <br /> • Friday February 1°, a Human Relations Month Kickoff will he held at the Century <br /> Center in Camboro from 6 to 9 pm. Invited speakers will offer their opinions and <br /> observations on the struggle for equal rights and the state of human relations in our <br /> community today. The musical group, Town Ensemble, and the choir of Iglesis Unida its <br /> Cristo will also perform. <br /> • Saturday February I at 3 pm at New Ho" Elementary School, the group Kimn will <br /> host aperformance of South Asian music and offer cultural and histonoal information on <br /> South Asian countries such as Pakistan, India and Bangladesh gran is a collection of <br /> people dedicated to supporting and assisting women who are from South Asia and <br /> experiencing domestic violence. They will speak on the special circumstances and <br /> cultural struggles of these women. This event is being co-sponsored by the Orange <br /> County Commission for Women. <br /> • Sunday February 20 at 1 pm at A.L. Stanback Middle School.the Commission will <br /> host its annual Pauli Murray Awards Ceremony. Originally established in 1990, the <br /> Pauli Murray Awards Ceremony recognizes individuals and businesses that have worked <br /> to promote and foster better human relations among the diverse residents of Orange <br />
