6 <br /> SECTION 22.(a) If any provision of this act or its application is held invalid, the <br /> invalidity does not affect other provisions or applications of this act that can be given effect <br /> without the invalid provisions or application, and to this end the provisions of this act are <br /> severable. <br /> SECTION 22.(b) Prosecutions for offenses committed before the effective date of <br /> this act are not abated or affected by this act, and the statutes that would be applicable but for <br /> this act remain applicable to those prosecutions. <br /> SECTION 22.(c) Except as otherwise provided,this act is effective when it becomes <br /> law. <br /> In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 25th day of August, <br /> 2021. <br /> s/ Phil Berger <br /> President Pro Tempore of the Senate <br /> s/ Tim Moore <br /> Speaker of the House of Representatives <br /> s/ Roy Cooper <br /> Governor <br /> Approved 2:47 p.m. this 2nd day of September, 2021 <br /> Senate Bill 300 Session Law 2021-138 Page 29 <br />
