The following is the suggested composition of the Homestead Road and High School <br />Road Safety Task Force: <br />One County Commissioner (or designee) <br />X <br />One Town of Carrboro Alderman (or designee) <br />One Town of Chapel Hill Councilperson (or designee) <br />One Chapel Hill/Carrboro School District <br />representative <br />One North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation representative <br />Two Community representatives X <br />X =Chosen by the Board of County Commissioners <br />Staff support for the task force will be from the planning or transportation division of <br />the local governments. The Police and Public Works Departments also will offer input. A <br />Winmore Development representative, who has a major project in the area, will also be <br />notified because they will be making improvements in the area, The Orange County <br />Planning and Inspections Department will organize the agendas. <br />A subcommittee of the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning <br />Organization (DCHC) Technical Coordinating Committee (TCC) made up of transportation <br />staff from the Chapel Hill Planning Department, Carrboro Planning Department, and Orange <br />County Planning and Inspections Department, will meet December 4, 2003, with the North <br />Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) District Engineer to disctass available <br />funding far, and to develop, a discrete list of improvements/projects that address traffic, <br />pedestrian and bicycle safety in the area of Homestead Road and High School Road . <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None at this time, <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Administration recommends the board create the task <br />force and appoint associated members, In addition, forward this item to the other local <br />governments for their representatives, <br />
